Ion was established in order to provide a high quality service that would positively impact on people’s lives. We purchased the Haining Care Home in Maddiston from administration in 2016, and through a detailed improvement plan we have now been awarded the highest possible Grade 6- “Excellent, Outstanding and Sector Leading” from the Care Inspectorate for the Care and Support we provide.
In February 2017, we acquire a disused, derelict former pub premises in Maddiston. Following an extensive refurbishment, we opened the doors to the new Ion Enablement Centre in February 2018. This purpose renovation now provides enablement services to 30 adults per day, and was recently described by Falkirk council as a “benchmark” service for others to aspire to.
In September 2017, we began providing Care at Home services to Falkirk council, and in April 2018 we were awarded a place on the framework for delivering services. We are now the biggest provider of care in the Falkirk area, and at our first inspection in December 2018 we were awarded Grade 5- “Very Good- Major Strengths”. This is a formidable achievement for a first inspection, and we continue to move forward with our commitment to becoming Sector Leading.
In January 2019, after demand for our services increased beyond Falkirk, we began providing Care at Home services in West Lothian. We will also be providing these services in Lanarkshire in summer 2019.
